My career with Fresh Start Counseling Center began in May 2007. I
have had various experiences in the helping field. I have worked with
diverse populations suffering from mental illness and alcohol and
drug addictions. These experiences have included working with people
who had a persistent and chronic mental illness and those who may
be dually-diagnosed. Working as a case manager, a counselor, as well
as providing individual and family therapy added to my experiences.
While working with this population, I have applied Family Systems
therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and the Humanistic Approach,
each of which I have felt passionate about. These do not define me
or limit me, as I remain mindful of my approaches. I continue to grow
as a social worker and person, applying models of therapy necessary
for each individual.
I obtained my Bachelors of Social Work Degree at the University of
Wisconsin- Oshkosh. I gained some experience working in the mental
health field for two years in San Francisco, California. I worked
as a Counselor in a group home with people who were dually diagnosed.
I enjoy keeping a healthy lifestyle, which includes spending time
with my dog, exercising and enjoying time with my friends and family.
Some of my hobbies include spending time outdoors, hiking, biking
and camping.
