Casey Schutte
Treatment Foster Care Worker
MSW, CAPSW

My name is Casey Schutte, and I have been with Fresh Start Family Services since June of 2006.

During my undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I became very interested in issues of social justice, and the impact that governments have on their citizens.  Given this interest and my desire to work in an area that involves interacting with children, I chose to pursue a career in social work, despite having received my Bachelors of Arts degrees in Political Science, Sociology, and History.   To achieve my goal of practicing social work professionally and proficiently, I decided to obtain the degree of Master of Social Work, and enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Graduate School of Social Work.  While in graduate school, I participated in the Title IV-E Traineeship program, which gave me experience and training opportunities geared specifically toward work with children, youth and families.  This Traineeship guaranteed that upon my graduation from school, I was prepared to work immediately in my chosen area of child welfare, in this case Treatment Foster Care.  I have found this to be a very engaging and rewarding position, and enjoy working with children and families on a daily basis.

When not working, I enjoy exercising, spending time outdoors, watching movies, reading, and keeping up on current events.
